CNC Manufacturing is a ’one-stop-shop’ for OSO Hotwater

– They deliver on all our needs in welding, plate processing such as water and laser cutting, turning, milling and assembly, says Roy André Magnussen, managing director of OSO Hotwater Group.

OSO Hotwater was founded in 1932 and was Norway’s first manufacturer of water heaters. In 1965, the company was the first in Europe to develop a stainless steel water heater. Since then, more than five million OSO processors have found their way into European homes.

Norway's most robotic production facility

Since its inception almost 100 years ago, OSO Hotwater has been a family business with a constant focus on improving products and processes. They currently have Norway’s most robotic production facility. The pioneering spirit is still part of their DNA, with product innovations that contain integrated solutions, cutting-edge material technology and added value for customers.

– OSO Hotwater came into contact with what was called Artech Manufacturing in 2012, which was then owned by a Norwegian company. The Norwegian part was shortly after forced to dispose of the Swedish part and since we already had a well-established cooperation and were very satisfied, OSO Hotwater Group chose to buy the company in December 2013 with the aim of developing the machining business and developing production capacity for large industrial tanks, says the CEO of OSO Hotwater Group.

Fast, precise and reliable production

To ensure competitiveness in the Norwegian and international market, OSO Hotwater has invested heavily in automation of its production processes. The goal is to be a leader in terms of quality and efficiency. A paradigm shift in this development was in 2010 when the company established its own development department for machine and process development.

– Since then, we have designed our own production technology where our own production equipment is designed and built. A critical link in this has been the fast, precise and reliable production of several tens of thousands of machine parts from CNC Manufacturing, says Magnussen.

He emphasizes that the collaboration has been good all these years, which we completely agree with. OSO Hotwater is a very important customer for us.

– The quality of the deliveries from CNC Manufacturing has been good over all these years, and there is a good interaction between the companies to find good and production-friendly solutions for the manufacture of our machine parts. In addition, there is a great will to develop, says Magnussen.
